Welcome!
My name is Rachael Wilber, and I recently received my teaching certificate from GVSU in May of 2013. For my education program, I was lucky enough to be placed in the Woodrow Wilson Fellowship along with Doug Peterson, Jon Reinhard, Erin Berner, Camden Parks, Angela Rhoades, and Mark Cistaro.
During my internship, I student taught at Lee High School in Steve Rierson's Biology class. Mark was placed in the same classroom. Having two student teachers in one class was an interesting and wonderful experience for us.
I grew up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, where I attended Ontonagon Area Jr/Sr High School and Northern Michigan University. While growing up, I enjoyed spending as much time as possible in the outdoors, where I fell in love with nature and by default, science. I truly enjoy learning how the world around me works. In school, I was involved in several activities. I participated in cheerleading, band, student council, Spanish Club, Art Club, Drama Club and community drama programs in high school. At NMU, my extracurriculars were mainly music: marching band, symphonic band, choir, and percussion ensemble.
I am so excited to share my love of science with my current and future students! Thank you for visiting my Weebly, and I hope you find it at least a bit interesting!
